Each initiative within Safahla Foundation is guided by our mission to build resilience and empower women’s wellness.
Through education, access, and advocacy, we address real challenges faced by medically underserved communities in the Southern Tier of New York.

FEATURED INITIATIVES

Resilience & Wellness Educational Platform

Focus: Formalizing, standardizing, and scaling the educational outreach needed to address local health literacy gaps.

Overview:
A 12-month series of virtual and in-person wellness workshops focused on key areas of women’s health — including menopause management, hormone balance, skin health, and nutrition for healing.

Impact Goals:

  • Reach 500+ participants within 18 months

  • Blend physician-led sessions with community storytelling

Resilience Access Fund

Focus: Leveraging the founder’s personal experience to teach patients how to navigate and interact with the complex healthcare system more effectively.

Overview:
Through structured training, participants learn how to advocate for their health — from preparing questions for physician visits to understanding billing and insurance.

Impact Goals:

  • Include this module in 75% of all wellness workshops

  • Build confidence and communication among patients

Patient Self-Advocacy Training

Focus: Directly addressing the financial barriers that prevent low-income community members from accessing essential diagnostics and preventative services.

Overview:
Our Access Fund directly supports low-income women facing financial barriers to vital healthcare.
Funds are provided as micro-subsidies to cover diagnostic imaging, lab work, or transportation for essential screenings.

Impact Goals:

  • 50 micro-grants (valued $250–$500 each) in Year 1

  • Create equitable access to early detection and prevention
